On our way to Gibraltar we decided to take a little beach detour. We stopped at the seaside town of Estepona.
We grabbed a quick lunch at a great McDonald’s. When we are home we probably eat at McDonald’s twice a year. However, when you have a car full of hungry kids, McDonald’s is a really good options. This one had a great playground in a separate building, they were open when we go there at noon (most lunch places open at 1 or 2 in Spain), and I knew I wouldn’t have to fuss at the kids to get them to eat the food.
Then we drove a few blocks to the beach. Parking was underground and so simple. There was a long boardwalk all along the beachfront and playground equipment all over the place. There were kids playing everywhere. We stopped, played 1-2 hours, put our toes in the Mediterranean, and went on our way. This city would probably be a great choice for a longer stay.
